The ceramics studio at WCC is a 10,000 square foot facility with over 30 pottery wheels (Brent, Lockerbie and Creative Industries) to accommodate the credit and the noncredit programs. The hand-building area can accommodate 15 students. The ceramics studio provides the following kilns: two 50-cubic foot gas kilns for stoneware firing; a wood gas kiln and a soda salt kiln; two raku kilns and a pit fire area; five 12-cubic foot electric kilns for bisque fire and high fire oxidation; and two small china paint kilns.
The ceramics studio is open six days a week. Open lab studio time is also available during the summer months through the Continuing Education Program. We are closed during the winter break. |
