Windward CC is a state-approved institution for veteran education benefits. The Admissions and Records Office is the Veterans Affairs certifying official for enrollment certification. More information regarding eligibility, entitlement and types of training authorized may be obtained by calling the Veterans Administration Regional Office or go to the Veterans Administration website.
Complete Admissions Application Form
- You must complete an admissions UH System Application Form (PDF), which is also available at the Admissions and Records Office.
- You must be in a major leading towards a degree/certificate and declare Windward CC as your Home Institution.
Complete On-line VA Application Form
- Once you receive your Windward CC acceptance letter, go to the VA website to complete an on-line VA Education Benefits Application form.
- Print and submit a copy of your completed VA Education Benefits Application form to the Windward CC Admissions and Records Office.
Request Your Transcripts be Sent to Windward
- You must request official transcripts to be mailed directly to the Windward CC Admissions and Records Office for any previous colleges attended.
- Military education and training must also be evaluated. Go to the related links section of the VA website for the various military websites (e.g. AARTS, SMART, CCF) to request your military transcripts to be mailed directly to the Windward CC Admissions and Records Office.
- VA will not fund courses that may be transferred from previous college/military training.
- You must complete a Request for Transcript Evaluation form at the Windward CC Admissions and Records Office to have all of your transcripts evaluated.
Register for Classes
Complete Windward CC VA Forms
- After you have registered for your classes, you must submit to the Windward CC Admissions and Records Office a VA Registration Form (PDF) completed by your Windward CC counselor to certify courses applicable towards your degree/certificate.
- This VA Registration Form must be submitted each semester to Windward CC Admissions and Records Office.
- A signed VA Student Responsibility Statement (PDF) must also be submitted to the Windward CC Admissions and Records Office.
Make Tuition/Fees Payment
- You are responsible to pay for your tuition/fees by the deadline. Your first VA check may not be received until 6 to 8 weeks into the semester.
Certify Credits to VA
- Upon receipt of your completed on-line VA Education Benefits Application, VA Registration Form, and VA Student Responsibility Statement, Windward CC Admissions and Records Office will submit your certification to VA at Muskogee.
Change of Registration
- If you added classes after your completion of the VA Registration Form , you must process another VA Registration Form with the added classes. The Windward CC counselor will re-certify the courses applicable towards your degree/certificate.
- If you dropped any classes after your completion of the VA Registration Form, you must notify Windward CC Admissions and Records Office.
Verify VA Status
- You may track your VA status any time by calling the VA Regional Office or go to the VA website.
- Every month you are required to certify your school attendance by calling the VA Regional Office or go to the VA website.
