These instructions are for Mac OS X 10.2, 10.3, and 10.4 with an Apple AirPort or AirPort Extreme wireless card. The instructions may or may not work with third-party wireless cards. If you have a third-party wireless card, please see the manufacturer's configuration guide.
Step 1.
From the menu bar, open System Preferences |

Step 2.
Click on the "Network" icon |

Step 3.
Select "AirPort" and click the "Configure" button |

Step 4.
In the AirPort Tab, check the box beside "Show AirPort status in menu bar".
This will put a small icon on the top right of your menu that indicates if you are connected and how strong the connection is.

Step 5.
In the TCP/IP tab, click on the "Using DHCP" tab, which is located between the "Airport" and "Configure IPv4" tabs. |

Step 6.
In the menu bar, click on the AirPort icon and select "Turn AirPort On" |

Step 7.
Click on the AirPort icon again. Select "WCC Campus" |

Step 8.
A dialog box will open. Select "WEP Password" for Wireless Security |

Step 9.
Enter "96744" (without the quotation marks) for the password. |

Step 10.
Check the box beside "Remember password in my keychain" |
|
Step 11.
Press the OK button |

Step 12.
If the AirPort menu icon changes from gray to black you are connected |

Before connecting your Apple computer to the wireless network, please make sure your operating system and anti-virus software are current.
If you don't have anti-virus software installed, and you are a faculty or staff member, or a student in the University of Hawaii (UH) system, you may download and install McAfee's anti-virus solution from UH. Further information can be found at http://128.171.41.97/antivirus/.
