1.3 Increase the number of Native Hawaiians that complete developmental reading (from 3 to 31), writing (from 12 to 33), and math (from 29 to 51) classes to between 83% and 86% by 2015.
Comments So Far
Comment 1. Use Lui's numbers.
Comment 2. Baseline percentages would be helpful in portraying a clear picture of what needs to be achieved.
Comment 3. What are the numbers in the parens based on? What year(s) does that data reflect?
Comment 4. There has been "talk"--not dialogue, discussion, or communication--that ETC was to remediate those individuals who could not begin WCC's credit-side developmental courses by expanding ETC's remedial/developmental department. Is this merely a rumor? Has WCC language arts division been selected to provide these services? Would there be no opportunity for ETC's non-credit remedial/developmental department to work with WCC language arts?
Comment 5. There is no justification for ETC's affiliation with WCC if remedial, non-credit education is not accounted for in the strategic plan. Is this an oversight or is this the plan!
