Keeping that equipment in good shape depends on your care.
- Protect the equipment from Rain!
- Replace the cover, dust destroys!
- Do not put chalk sticks on the AV carts!
- Protect equipment from Theft!
- Theft happens, don’t be too trusting with equipment.
- Close and lock classroom doors when class is not in session.
- Keep AV storage rooms locked.
Equipment for Non-Classroom Use or Special Use
The equipment in the classroom or in building AV storage rooms are STRICTLY for classroom use and are not to be removed to other buildings or taken off campus! Remember this equipment is used for day and night classes!
If you need to take equipment off-campus, or you need extra or special equipment, you can check equipment out from the MPC in Hale No’eau building. The loan period of equipment varies with the type and number of items available.
Operating Equipment
Operating instructions may be found on the inside of AV equipment cabinets or in a booklet in the AV storage room.
Checking out AV Equipment
Where Do I Find AV Equipment?
In buildings with card keys (Palanakila, Imiloa and Akoakoa) where classrooms are more easily secured you will find the permanent AV equipment in the AV closet. Mobile equipment such as visual presentors, 16mm film to video converters will be stored on carts in the classroom or in one of the AV storage rooms (PA 116, PA 222).
For unsecured buildings (Mana’opono, Manaleo) a screen and overhead projector may be found in the classroom. All other equipment must be wheeled into the classroom on carts from the AV storage room (106) located in the buildings lobby. Your classroom key should open the AV storage room.
Note: The equipment kept in classroom building is for classroom use in that building only! Please do not remove equipment from the building. If you need additional AV equipment or need to view materials in your office or home, please go to the Media Center to check out the equipment you need.
What To Do With Faulty Equipment?
If equipment is not working properly PLEASE CALL Ext. 300. Signs are provided in the equipment room to mark faulty equipment. As a courtesy to your fellow instructors please use these signs.
