Service-Learning is an option in which students can earn partial course credit in designated courses at Windward Community College. Working with their instructor, students who opt for a service-learning component in a specified course will learn and develop academic skills from a course and apply their learning through active participation in an elementary, intermediate, or secondary school or at an approved community site. Service-Learning is reciprocal in nature and is integrated into many courses at Windward CC. It enhances the academic curriculum of the students throught the educational component of the service-learning course and is directed towards fostering civic responsibility in the student.
