Using WebDAV in Laulima

Note: this information has been taken from the Laulima Help Center, which should be consulted for more information.

WebDAV allows you to transfer files and folders from your computer to a Resources folder in Laulima either your Workspace or a course). WebDAV stands for "Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning".

Once you have set up WebDAV, your computer will treat your Resources section like any other folder on your local system

Important Note: Before you set up WebDAV, at least one object (i.e., file or folder) must be in the destination Resources tool. For instructions on adding files without using WebDAV, see Working with files in Resources.

Also, you will need to determine the SiteID for the course you want to create a connection to.

Steps for creating a WebDAV connection are available for the

Setting up WebDAV on the Macintosh (jump to instructions for Windows XP)

For OSX 10.4 (Tiger)

  1. From the <Go> menu, choose <Connect to Server>
  2. In the "Server Address:" field, enter the SiteID
  3. Click the + (plus sign) to the right of the server address after you enter it, and the server will be added to your list of favorite servers. That way, next time, you will only have to go to <Connect to Server> and it will appear on the list.
