Windward Community College Associate in Arts Degree in Ocean Recreation and Safety Proposed Program for Fall 2005 What Interested Students Can Do Now |
![]() |
While we hope to have this program in full operation beginning Fall 2005, there are a number of courses interested student may take now. Students may begin to work on completing their General Education Core Requirements. In addition, interested students may consider taking OCN 201 (Science of the Sea) and Marine Biology (ZOOL 200) or Coral Reef (BIOL 200), since these classes will likely be accepted in place of the proposed OCN 121 (The Physical Environment of the Ocean) and OCN 122 (Biological Oceanography). IS 197/197L (Introduction to Surf Science, Culture and Technology) and IS 160/160L (Polynesian Voyaging and Seamanship) will also be accepted in place of proposed similar courses for the ORS curriculum. A tentative curriculum may suggest to students what kinds of classes they may take until the program is implemented.
