The Hawaii State Theatre Council (HSTC) presented its “Excellence In Overall Production” awards, also known as the “Po`okelas,” at its annual “Stars’ Night Out” celebration on July 27, 2009 and Paliku was recognized with awards for both of the shows we produced last season! Paliku extends our congratulations and heartfelt appreciation to all of our outstanding recipients.
The Paliku Theatre 2009 Po`okela Recipients Are:
Overall Musical “Miss Saigon”, directed by Ron Bright
Leading Female in a Musical Brittany Browning, “Miss Saigon”
Choreography Jade Anguay Bright, “Miss Saigon”
Ensemble The cast of “The Wind in the Willows”

In addition, the Po`okela for “Excellence In Service” was awarded to Mary, Lauren, Simone and Lloyd “Sandy” Riford for their unyielding dedication to Paliku Theatre!
Also, the manager of Paliku Theatre, Tom Holowach, was honored as Leading Male in a Musical for his performance as Lt. Frank Cioffi in “Curtains,” produced by Army Community Theatre in March.
