Hawai'i GEMS Project
The Primary goal of the Hawai'i Global Engagement of Multifaceted Stakeholders (HI GEMS) project is to improve educational achievement for Hawaii's native population and Samoan students, grades k-16, both in and out of the classroom setting. Faculty and Students, in a partnership of trained Service-Learners, will be engaged in a tutorial and mentoring system among three specified institutions of the Windward School District of O'ahu, Hawai'i (Waimanalo to Kahuku): (1) Windward Community College (2) The University of Hawai'i at Manoa, and (3) the Castle High School Complex, K-12. Four activities are designed to fulfill this Service-Learning project's goal:

(1) "Training Tomorrow's Teachers"
(2) "Celebrating Teen Reading"
(3) "Developing Career College Connections"
(4) "Strengthening Ties with the Polynesian Voyaging Society"

Project Visitation
Project visitation was created to maintain the relationships between siblings who are living in seperate foster homes. Project Visitation is a wonderful opportunity for you or your organization to get involved with helping Hawaii's abused and neglected children. There are few things more exciting than for a child to see a brother or sister he or she has not seen in months. There are few things more rewarding for an adult than knowing his or her time, love, and commitment to helping children, have made that connection possible.
