The water quality of the external stream, our site 2, was moderately good
with the following parameters:
pH value was 7.0, and the temperature 19 degrees Celsius, considered optimal
for most organisms. The conductivity value of 182.38 uS is similar to Kiheipua
Pond. These values are typical values for lakes and streams. Our turbidity measurement
was 8.155 NTU, exceeding the State criteria of 2 NTU. The stream showed signs
of soil erosion and decaying organic matter, contributing factors of turbidity.
The D.O. (Dissolved Oxygen) value was 7.5mg/L, and corresponds to 85% saturation,
an adequate D.O. level.
