| Kiheipua Lo'i Kalo
is located mauka of Windward Community College, adjacent to the Hawaii State
Hospital. Since 1999, Kiheipua has been the home of KuPono, the Hawaiian
Club at WCC. KuPono has been cultivating and maintaining many varieties
of kalo, irrigated by ground water.
Ground water is carried through a pipe and collected into a man-made pond. This pond is used to irrigate the lo'i in Kiheipua. Also nearby is another ground water pipe that bypasses the property and joins into Kapunahala Stream. Our group is collaborating with the KuPono Club by analyzing the quality of the water. Please click on the
stars to view the sites and learn about its water quality.
